It is absolutely astounding what horrors “humans” will do to each other. Howard Paul Denver Wonderful article. I will be visiting soon. Matt Cale Thornton This is really good journalism. Thank you. As an annual member of History Colorado, I am eager to experience the new exhibit. While I didn’t move to Colorado and the Denver metro area until eighth grade, I was a student at the University of Colorado Boulder when Nichols Hall was renamed after the Cheyenne and Arapaho tribes. I remember thinking, “Wow, I don’t know anything about the history of the land and its people that came before the so-called settlers.” Dances With Wolves came out around then, and I’m still learning about the history of the land we now call Colorado. We should all get an annual membership; it is such great value consider- ing the Georgetown Loop railroad tickets and all the amazing exhibits and programs for the price of a nice meal out for two. It is our fi ve-year-old’s favorite museum, and we have some really great ones here in Denver. As a graduate of Arapahoe High School, I’m proud to see the AHS letter jacket on display to offer recognition of what the school has done to honor its namesake Arapaho Nation relationship. Michael Segler Denver America was built upon violence. Boyd Catt Kyle, South Dakota I cannot express my appreciation enough for Patricia Calhoun’s “Nothing Lives Long,” which offered an in-depth look at the two Sand Creek exhibits at History Colorado, and what came between them. This is what Westword does best: explain the story behind the story. All of Denver should hope that Westword continues to live for a very long time. Harvey O’Malley Denver I want to commend Westword for the con- tinuing work on the Sand Creek Massacre. It is indeed the darkest chapter in Colorado history, and we should never forget. Larry Ryan Denver After reading Patricia Calhoun’s piece, I hurried to History Colorado. She’s right: That exhibit is very impressive. Merri Sanders Boulder “DRINK HERE,” NOVEMBER 24 G L A S S H A L F - E M P T Y I enjoyed your list of bars in “Drink Here,” but I was sorry not to see Pint’s Pub on it. Don’t be eager to hype all the new places in town and forget the survivors who’ve been serving us all these years. Jake Mayer Denver If a bar is old, dirty and disgusting, it’s guaranteed to be one of your favorites. What’s the matter with sitting down at a sophisticated spot and sipping on a nice martini? Rachel Fowler Denver “ORDER UP!,” MOLLY MARTIN, NOVEMBER 3 S A M I A M I love Sam’s #3! With diners celebrating all over town, we need to celebrate this place. Joan Coughlin Denver Greek Stackopulos with a side of red chili. Pour down the middle and make it a Colorado version of “Christmas.” Get with an alcoholic shake. Clint Heyn Denver Don’t miss a word!
