Here are some tips to get that family heirloom clean and protected: Find plenty of shanked pipe cleaners and rubbing alcohol, and unscrew the pipe. Dip the pipe cleaners in alcohol and gently but fi rmly scrub the inside of that sucker until the tobacco debris is gone. Use a cloth or cotton swab to clean the mouthpiece and exterior areas — but not with alcohol, because it could blemish the wood or pipe features. After you’re done, consider using metal or wood polish on the exterior and coat the bowl with some weed ash to protect the wood from resin tar. Now you’re ready to smoke: Put chunkier, hand-pulled buds on the bottom and fi nely ground herb on top to prevent sucking weed into the stem, and repeat the cleaning process frequently. Dear Stoner: I’m paying a lot of money for what seem like average dispensary products in Dillon. Are the prices and products in Denver worth driving down for the day to stock up? Kiera Dear Kiera: The three dispensaries in Dillon have fl ower prices similar to those at most Denver stores, based on their menus, but edibles and hash prices are a few dollars higher in the mountains. You’re also likely missing out on better sales and product selection because of the lack of competition: Whereas Dillon has just a few stores, around 200 different Denver dispensaries are vying for customer attention, with fl ash deals and product drops from craft brands.
