For starters, there’s a fl ood of cheap wholesale weed on the market right now, and making infused pre-rolls is a quick way for growers and extractors to sell it off. Obtaining an infused-products license, purchasing surplus weed and pairing it with cheaply made THC oil is an easy operation compared to running a dispensary or cultivation — but growers and hash makers are getting in on the action, too. “We’re seeing the market go two ways right now: toward higher-end products like rosin, and toward more convenient and af- fordable products like pre-rolls,” explains Lianna Loving, the Colorado sales director for Viola Brands. For respected companies that both grow and extract, such as Viola, an infused pre-roll venture is one more way to diversify as shopping and price trends change. Unless you trust the brands selling these juiced-up joints, though, I still suggest rolling your own. There’s a lot you can hide between those papers. Dear Stoner: What are the best ways to smoke CBD and THC together? I’ve enjoyed a few, but haven’t found anything consistent. Mild Hits Dear Mild Hits: At least you’ve found a dis- pensary that still carries high-CBD strains, because they’re not so easy to fi nd anymore. Most of the high-CBD strains I smoked two years ago aren’t on shelves today, and dab- bable high-CBD concentrate is becoming increasingly rare, too. L’Eagle usually car- ries Cannatonic or ACDC, either of which are calm CBD strains, and Cherry Hills by Veritas is a wholesale high-CBD strain you can fi nd at dispensaries around town. But if you don’t already trust these types of strains or concentrates, then try creating your own CBD salad. High-CBD hemp fl ower and concentrates are sold online and at head shops and CBD stores. All of them allegedly have less than 0.3 percent THC (unless the hemp is sprayed with Delta-8 THC, which you should avoid if getting high isn’t your goal). Once you fi nd a reputable supply of CBD-only hemp products, then it’s time to experiment. Pick your preferred THC strains for fl avor and effect, add light amounts to the CBD fl ower or concentrate, and fi gure out the ratios that suit you best.
