Those are pretty easy to fi nd, but aren’t there others? B. Grizzly Dear B. Grizzly: The Natural Medicine Health Act decriminalized psilocybin mushrooms, DMT, ibogaine and mescaline that is not from peyote. These natural psychedelics can now be grown, possessed and consumed by adults 21 and up. But psilocybin, already the most culturally relevant and easy to obtain, is also legal on a therapeutic level in Colorado, with the state’s program launching in late May. Even with psilocybin’s extended legal sta- tus, fi nding mushrooms for personal use still exists in a gray area...but it’s never been easier. Some people will sell you “support” services intended to help you properly and safely experi- ence mushrooms, and the ‘shrooms are a gift. Although harder to fi nd, DMT and mescaline can be procured under similar circumstances — but ibogaine, a psychedelic stimulant from Africa used in America for traumatic brain injuries and addiction, isn’t allowed to be gifted or shared (from what I’ve heard, you wouldn’t take ibogaine for fun, anyway). Since all of these are intended to be produced naturally, why not grow them and learn about why people con- sume them fi rst? Psychedelics can rewire your brain and should be approached with a purpose. Dear Stoner: I could use some weed that helps me forget this bullshit going on the world. Got anything that takes care of that? Watching Trump tear our country down is getting stressful. Prius Primus Dear Prius Primus: It’s hard to judge people who fi nd themselves in front of the bar or bong more often these days with everything going on in the world. Reading national news has be- come scary and joyless, as if life as a grunt isn’t stressful enough. I’m hesitant to recommend anything that will get you so high that you’re removed from the world, but here are a few strains to help you get outside and fall asleep: Chocolate Diesel from SPCY Canna and McLaren rosin by Might Melts have kept me happy and hungry since May, but they also bring upbeat highs that are great for walking the dog, hiking or going to the park. Blue Zushi, a popular nighttime strain in Denver, has been doing the exact opposite before bed, and it tastes like a Baby Bottle Pop. Toke any of these, young Padawan, and the Force will reignite within you. Herbert Fuego is the alias of a longtime Westword staffer. Send him questions through [email protected]
