PHOTOGRAPH BY DANIEL ULIBARRI “INDIGENOUS PUNK,” JASON HELLER, APRIL 10 P R E T T Y I N P U N K Wonderful cover and article on Gregg Deal and Dead Pioneers. Thank you for staying on top of the stories that really matter to those of us who live here. Georgia Myers Denver Are fans of Pearl Jam ready for anything made after 1995? Chris Bullock Denver “SHOOT FOR THE ROCKS,” JUSTIN CRIADO, APRIL 10 O N T H E R O C K S Such a bunch of BS! Whoever was putting on Tequila Blues Festival blew it big time! I made plans to travel from Pennsylvania just for this, and they cancel with less than a week’s notice! I feel so mad/sad for all the artists and attendees involved. Dan Gillespie East Petersburg, Pennsylvania Editor’s note: Us, too. The event was canceled after the print edition of Westword went to press on April 7 — with a big story on the Tequila Blues Festival. THE BEST OF DENVER, MARCH 27 H O W T H E B E S T W A S W O N My favorite thing besides the Best of Denver is watching all the complaints that come in after you put out the issue! I guess it’s true that no good deed goes unpunished. Lisa Ross Aurora Thank you for revealing the Best Meat- loaf in an Asian Restaurant. I don’t think I could’ve gone on without knowing that. Jamie Vigil Englewood I circled several things while reading the Best of Denver, including the Best Way to Read the New York Times for Free. I’ve always appreciated the Denver Public Li- brary’s services, but didn’t know about this one. Thank you. Liz Washington Denver How can Arvada Aquatics Center be rated as Best New Public Pool when the hours are so limited? There are maybe two hours of public access (6 to 8 a.m. Saturday morning) for the entire weekend. The pool is closed from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. every weekday. There is no accountability or information as to who uses the pool when the pool is closed to the public. Taxpayers spent over $45 mil- lion for this complex and rarely get to use it. Kay Deakyne Arvada Editors’ note: For the record, in response to our award for The Best Free Parking Near Denver International Airport, RTD notes that “going even one stop requires a fare: $10 for adults....only youth 19 and under can ride at no cost.” Of course, our suggestion for Best Free Parking involved some slightly scoffl aw behavior regarding where you park your car, too, so if you get on the A Line without paying, you take your chances. ASK A STONER, HERBERT FUEGO, MARCH 13 In the March 13 issue, the Stoner was asked if the concentrate pamphlet needs to be given every time a customer makes a hash purchase; the article goes on to say that the pamphlets only need to be offered. However, that is not correct. Anytime a customer makes a purchase of concen- trate the customer must take a pamphlet: “When completing a sale of Retail Mari- juana Concentrate, a Retail Marijuana Store shall physically attach to the con- sumer’s receipt of sale, product container, or exit packaging the tangible educational resource created by the State Licensing Authority regarding the use of Regulated Marijuana Concentrate.” Casey Palionis Aurora
