Wiz Khalifa is a 420 On The Rocks veteran, having performed at the annual show eight times. Including the show’s cancelled 2020 date, this will be the tenth year that he’s been involved in Red Rocks’s 420 festivities! The multi-platinum rap sensation has been a vocal marijuana advocate since the beginning of his career, frequently incorporating cannabis culture into his music and personal branding, includ- ing his own Khalifa Kush cannabis line. He’s previously shared the headliner slot at 420 On The Rocks with other infamous weed-loving rappers like Snoop Dogg, Juicy J, and most recently Flatbush Zombies. But, the Grammy- nominated Taylor Gang head honcho hasn’t headlined Red Rocks by himself since 2012, making this an exciting opportunity for fans to see him in a starring role. Wiz has been teasing a sequel to his beloved 2010 mixtape Kush & Orange Juice for a year now, and though he’s only confi rmed that it is indeed on the way, rumor has it that he plans to release the follow-up on April 18–just in time for 420 On The Rocks! Taylor Gang associates Chevy Woods and DJ Bonics are back at 420 On The Rocks for the second year in a row with Wiz. Hailing from Pittsburgh, DJ Bonics is Wiz Khalifa’s longtime tour DJ. Rap- per Chevy Woods was one of the fi rst artists offi cially signed to Wiz’s Taylor Gang label, and the duo has since dropped many popular collaborations, including their brand new track, “Scar- face.” Supporting acts Larry June and Ab-Soul will make their 420 On The Rocks debut this year. Fresh off the re- lease of Life Is Beautiful, his critically ac- claimed joint album with 2Chainz and The Alchemist, Larry June fuses West Coast and Dirty South infl uences over soulful, jazz-inspired instrumentals. Ab- Soul is Top Dawg Entertainment’s secret weapon, perhaps best known for his guest verses on tracks with labelmates Kendrick Lamar and SZA. But his recent solo project Soul Burger, released at the end of last year, introduced him to a new wave of lyrical hip-hop fans. Like a nice balance of indica and sativa, Larry June and Ab-Soul’s laid-back rhymes and lush instrumentals will kick the night off before Wiz Khalifa and Taylor Gang turn up the party energy to the max.
