Alma School Rd., #36 • 480.857.4188 Meet Fresh Sweet from p 33 and slightly sweet soup. It’s a must-have seasonal choice. You can order the almond soup plain, but the C Combo comes with melon jelly, rice balls, boba, and almond flakes, and hits the spot. Too late for the hot almond soup? Their next seasonal rotation is the coconut series which will feature new icy items, more shaved coconut toppings, and hopefully, a new, inspired tea flavor. Pudding & Q Mochi Milk Shaved Ice ($9.25) This comes close to the satisfaction of an ice cream sundae with the benefit of not being so rich that three bites in you can al- ready feel the regret. It’s also the dessert with the widest variety of toppings, so it’s a great way to sample the menu. Milk shaved ice is the base, and it’s topped with almond pudding, caramel pudding mochi, melon jelly, and ice cream. Warm Tofu Pudding with Taro ($7.50) Creamy blocks of tofu are suspended in what acts like a brown sugar broth. The flavor is muted and lightly sweet on its own, it pairs easily with any topping, but taro adds a little sweetness and texture. Boba Milk Tea ($4.75) When in doubt, go for the classic. Sweet, creamy milk tea with boba pearls on the bottom and served over ice. Or, if you’re in the mood for adventure, try a milk tea with black sugar boba ($4.75) or their grass jelly ($4.75). The Chocolate Deluxe Egg Waffle ($8.50) Meet Fresh egg waffles are served hot. They’re fluffy on the inside, crispy on the outside, and the original ($6) pairs nicely with any combination of hot or warm des- serts (it was exceptionally good with the Milk Shaved ice). But the Chocolate Deluxe is a chocolate 34 waffle with ice cream, nuts, and a choco- late drizzle. It’s not as traditional of a des- sert, but the ice cream melting into the Meet Fresh crispy, chocolate waffle satisfies a very spe- cific craving other desserts miss. Mung Bean Cakes ($6.25) These little cakes melt in your mouth. They’re a nutty, mung bean dough wrapped around a rich, red bean filling. Despite being bean-based, the texture is smooth, and it almost tastes like cookie dough. They make for a great snack if you’re not in the mood for a whole-fledged dessert. If you’re ready for you dessert fix you can Meet Fresh in Chandler in the 99 Fresh Market strip mall. You can also skip the line and order your treats for pickup at their website.
