For Brandon Rafi, the work didn’t start with a law firm or a community initiative. It started with a shift at a food bank, a quarter of a century ago. He volunteered at St. Mary’s Food Bank for the first time while a high school student at Brophy College Preparatory. Rafi credits that early experience for shaping his values, influ- encing his leadership, and ultimately inspiring the creation of Rafi’s Hope. In February, he went back to where it all began. Rafi returned to St. Mary’s Food Bank to mark 25 years since his first experience there, volunteering alongside 50 members of Team Rafi and making a $10,000 dona- tion to the organization. “Brophy had a strong volunteer culture, and I’m grateful for that,” Rafi said. “What I learned during those early experiences was invaluable. It reminded me to focus my attention on others and understand that growth isn’t just about personal achievement.” That lesson didn’t fade after gradua- tion. What stayed with him was how immediate the impact felt — being physi- cally part of the solution, not just reading about a problem. “That experience changes how you show up,” he said. Sharing the Mission As Rafi’s business ventures expanded, so did his understanding of leadership. “Leadership isn’t just about financial results,” he said. “It’s about stewardship. If you’re fortunate enough to build some- thing meaningful, you have a responsibility to invest in the community that made it possible.” Over time, he began inviting employees to volunteer alongside him, transforming community service into a shared experience that strengthened company culture. That evolution is visible across Rafi Law Group today, where attor- neys, case managers, intake teams, creatives, leadership, and support staff show up together — not because they’re required to, but because it matters. Years of volunteerism and philan- thropic involvement ultimately led to the creation of Rafi’s Hope, the firm’s commu- nity initiative launched in 2022 to invest in children, families, and underserved communities across Arizona. The initiative’s footprint grew steadily. In 2025, Team Rafi contributed more than 1,750 volunteer hours and directed over half a million dollars toward trusted community partners focused on food security, family support, education, and basic needs. One of the most meaningful expressions of that commitment came through the firm’s annual Summer of Service, when Team Rafi invested 12 consecutive weeks volunteering with organizations focused on homelessness, education, and family stability. That momentum has carried into 2026. On Jan. 21, more than 30 Rafi Law Group team members gathered for a volunteer shift at Feed My Starving Children, a nonprofit that packages nutritious meal kits for distribution to communities facing hunger worldwide. By the end of the shift, the group had helped pack 223 boxes — a total of 48,168 meals. According to Feed My Starving Children, those boxes will feed 132 children for an entire year. Investing in the Future of Philanthropy That commitment was recently rein- forced with the opening of the new Rafi’s Hope headquarters. The center, located on Camelback Road, is a dedicated space that serves as a central hub for volunteer coor- dination, community outreach, and resource distribution. Rafi’s February return to St. Mary’s was also a demonstration of what the organi- zation says it needs most. “Long-term volunteerism and consistent support allow us to serve our community effectively,” Jerry Brown, St. Mary’s Food Bank director of public relations, told AZ Big Media. “When individuals and organizations remain engaged over time, it creates stability and allows us to reach more fami- lies in need. Brandon’s decision to return 25 years after his first volunteer experience is a powerful reminder of how early expo- sure to service can shape a lifetime of community involvement.” For Rafi, the message is straightfor- ward: inspiration matters, but action and commitment are what truly affect change. “There’s a misconception that you have to choose between growing a business and investing in your community,” he said. “In reality, the two reinforce each other. You never know which experience will shape your future. For me, it started with volunteering. If you’re able to show up, even once, it can change the direction of y our life.” - BY CYNTHIA BARNES 102 Architecture/Engineering 103 Auditions/Show Biz 105 Career/Training/Schools 110 Computer/Technical 112 Construction/Labor 120 Drivers/Delivery/Courier 125 Domestic 127 Education 140 Financial/Accounting 143 Government Jobs 145 Management/Professional 150 Medical/Dental/Health 155 Medical Research Studies 160 Office/Clerical 167 Restaurants/Hotels/Clubs 170 Retail 172 Sales 175 Telemarketing/Call Center 177 Salons 180 Security/Law Enforcement 183 Trades 185 Miscellaneous 187 Part-Time Jobs 190 Business Opportunities 193 Employment Information 195 Position Wanted 198 Non-Profit 130 Entertainment To Place Your Emploment Ad Here, Call 602-254-3177 102 Architecture/Engineering ENGINEERING/ TECHNOLOGY Arm Inc., a multinational semiconductor and soft- ware design company, has openings in Chandler, AZ for Staff Engineer (ENG235): Verify functional correctness of Arm-based compute subsystems based on Arm System Ar- chitectures.
