Rio’s grassroots Caribbean pop-up cinema and production house is re- defining how stories are shared and who gets to tell them. Thursday’s session dives into the digital and community-based strate- gies that are fueling Miami’s Black and queer creative scenes. Later, performer Iman Clark, known onstage as Nami Flare, takes over with “Siren’s Allure,” a lush, multime- dia burlesque performance that traces a si- ren’s journey from the Mississippi Delta to the Caribbean Sea. 7 p.m. at Locust Projects, 297 NE 67th St., Miami; 305-576-8570. Admis- sion is free with RSVP via locusprojects.org. The holidays start when Mariah Carey says so, and this year, it’s not just re- plays of her classic “All I Want for Christmas Is You” that usher in the season. The Queen of Christmas is reviving Mariah Carey’s Holiday Wonderland Bar, an immersive experience featuring photo-ops, letter-writing stations, and limited-edition merchandise. After a suc- cessful inaugural run last year, the singer’s Irish Cream Liqueur, Black Irish, is partner- ing with BucketListers, a booking platform for experiential pop-ups, to bring the holiday bar to life. Stepping into Ray’s Hometown Bar Miami, you’ll find lights, tinsel, and mistletoe, and toast to the season with cocktails such as a Espresso Martini with a candy cane rim, a White Chocolate Martini with cotton candy and glitter, or a Cocoa Coffee spiked with Black Irish and decorated with red and green sprinkles. 11 a.m. at Ray’s Hometown Bar Mi- ami, 2727 Indian Creek Dr., Miami Beach; ray- barnnyc.com. Tickets cost $25 via bucketlisters. com. SOPHIA MEDINA ▼ FORT LAUDERDALE BAD TO THE BONE What’s your favorite Sublime song? No doubt, Badfish can play it. The band has been per- forming Sublime’s reggae-infused rock songs since 2001. With nearly a quarter-century on the road, the tribute act has built a loyal fol- lowing and expanded creatively to play its own original music. If you think you’ve heard “Santeria” one too many times, perhaps you need to hear it in a room of superfans belting it out at an indecent volume. 7 p.m. at Revolu- tion Live, 100 SW Third Ave., Fort Lauderdale; 954-449-1025; revolutionlive.com. Tickets cost $35 via ticketmaster.com. SOPHIA MEDINA ▼ FORT LAUDERDALE GREEK GODS Pioneer Winter Collective’s Apollo blends the disciplines of dance and theater to explore queer history themes, including intergenera- tional dynamics, memory, HIV/AIDS, and legacy. The performance reinterprets the Apollo of Greek mythology and Balanchine’s 1928 ballet through a queer lens. Instead of Muses, for example, the protagonist encoun- ters three queer elders, past iterations of him- self that challenge and guide him. The result? A story that celebrates connection across generations and redefines who gets to be cel- ebrated on stage. 8 p.m. at the Broward Center, 201 SW Fifth Ave., Fort Lauderdale; 954-462- 0222; browardcenter.org. Tickets cost $41 via ticketmaster.com. SOPHIA MEDINA SAT 11/22 ▼ DOWNTOWN MIAMI ALL OF THE LIGHTS In recent years, Frost Science’s Laser Evenings programming has expanded to include light shows featuring music by some of today’s most prominent musicians, from Taylor Swift to Bad Bunny. But this week, the series is “bringing it all back home” with artists from the classic rock era, including The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, and Jimi Hendrix. As laser lights pulse to every beat, sing along to the memorable tracks that made these musicians the icons they remain today. 7 p.m. at the Phillip and Patricia Frost Mu- seum of Science, 1101 Biscayne Blvd., Miami; 305-434-9600. Tickets cost $15 via frostscience. org. The performance is 18+. 8 p.m. at the Fillmore Miami Beach, 1700 Washington Ave., Miami Beach; 305-673-7300; fillmore-miami.com. Tickets cost $48 to $104 via ticketmaster.com.
