The restaurant remains one of the brand’s busiest locations worldwide. Few details about the new Brickell restaurant have been shared. Nobu has not yet confirmed the opening date, chef, or menu. Based on its ex- isting locations, the Brickell restaurant is ex- pected to feature many of Nobu’s classic dishes, as well as the minimalist design aesthetic that de- fines its global portfolio. The circular dining room will open toward Biscayne Bay, offering pan- oramic water views that distinguish it from other Nobu restaurants. Founded in 1994, Nobu has evolved into an in- ternational hospitality group with over 50 restau- rants and hotels worldwide. Each location centers on Matsuhisa’s Japanese cooking style, known for blending traditional techniques with global ingre- dients. Miami was among the first U.S. cities to embrace the brand, and the Brickell project con- tinues that relationship. The restaurant will join a growing list of high- profile dining names in Brickell, an area that has seen an influx of luxury restaurants in recent years. It will also expand Nobu’s presence in South Florida beyond Miami Beach, where the brand has maintained a location for more than two decades. OLEE FOWLER ▼ CORAL GABLES FROM MEXICO, WITH BEEF Posh new restaurant Rò Steakhouse has opened inside the Alhambra Tower in Coral Gables, mark- ing the U.S. debut of ViCa Hospitality Group, the team behind restaurants in Mérida, Mexico, in- cluding Cienfuegos and 130° Steakhouse. Part- ners Carlos Aguirre and Victor Ferraez describe the concept as a blend of the two, focused on live-fire cooking and a menu that balances tradi- tional steakhouse dishes with new flavors. “We’re excited to open Rò Steakhouse and be- come a neighborhood spot where friends and fam- ilies can feel at home,” Ferraez says in a statement. “We hope to create a welcoming space where peo- ple can enjoy great food any day of the week.” Executive chef Marcelo Palacios, formerly of Prime 112, leads the kitchen. The menu features steakhouse classics alongside seafood and Latin- inspired dishes. Starters include ribeye chicharrón with guacamole and salsa cruda, Sierra flamed cheese with gouda and Oaxaca, and marrow- kissed scallops with sweet pepper cream. Cold plates range from hamachi tiradito with ponzu and chili oil to tuna tataki with roasted pineapple sauce. Steak selections include filet, ribeye, toma- hawk, and porterhouse, along with specialty cuts such as Café Crust New York, finished with a cof- fee-and-spice crust, and A5 Japanese wagyu served on a hot stone. Non-beef options include pistachio-crusted tuna, roasted branzino, and truffle risotto, which can be ordered with beef tenderloin, lobster, or scallops. Sides such as scallion mac and cheese, truffled fries, and garlic mushrooms round out the menu. Desserts include a molten chocolate bomb with vanilla ice cream, a Yucatán-style flan with Gouda and puff pastry, and the Vasco cheesecake with berries and dulce de leche. The bar offers a focused cocktail list and wine selection, anchored by a cellar that doubles as a private locker pro- gram for up to 20 members. The 7,000-square-foot restaurant seats about 130 guests indoors, with an outdoor terrace planned to make its grand debut later this year. Designed by Arkham Projects and built by RAM Construction Management, the space features a rich blend of wood, bronze, and stone, with curved ceiling panels and moody lighting with or- ganic yet striking features.
