Yes, the classic Italian cocktail made of equal parts Campari, sweet red vermouth, and gin is taking every single cocktail menu in the Magic City by storm. From Italian res- taurants like Spar- row Italia and Carbone to craft cocktail bars like Cafe La Trova and ViceVersa, you’re about to see this cocktail being served everywhere this fall. Cafe La Trova 971 SW Eighth St., Miami; 786-615-4379; cafelatrova.com Of course the only Florida bar featured on the World’s Best Bars list has its own take on the negroni, which is worth a spot on this list. The “Toasted Coconut Negroni” is made with Appleton Estate Rum 12, Campari, and Del Professore Vermouth Rosso for $18. It’s worth the splurge. (Trust us.) Carbone 49 Collins Ave., Miami Beach; car- bonemiami.com It doesn’t get classier than this New York City staple for a classic negroni. Carbone serves its “House Negroni” ($22) with a completely different spin. While the cocktail would usually have equal proportions of gin, Campari, and sweet vermouth, Carbone increases the amount of Campari, lowers the gin slightly, and adds two types of vermouth (Carpano Antica and Punt E Mes). Try it and thank us later. Fiola 1500 San Ignacio Ave., Coral Gables; 305-912-2639; fiolamiami.com Since Fiola was New Times’ best Coral Gables Restaurant 2024 restaurant and a Required Eat 2025, it’s no surprise the Italian restaurant has a great negroni. The “Mr. A Negroni” is under its classic cocktails selection and is made with Bombay Sapphire, Campari, Carpano Antica vermouth, and Ramazzotti Amaro ($24). Michael’s Genuine 130 NE 40th St., Miami; michaelsgenuine.com Michael’s Genuine originally created an exclusive negroni for its celebration of “Ne- groni Week,” but it’s been such a success that the restaurant has added it to the menu per- manently. The house negroni is the “the House of Barrels,” nicknamed after owner and chef Michael Schwartz’s home. The cocktail is prepared with barrel-aged Sip- smith VJOP gin, Campari, and sweet ver- mouth made in house ($22). Mother Wolf 3841 NE Second Ave., Miami; 305-990-0022; motherwolfmiami.com Mother Wolf is one of the many Italian newcomers in town and a great recommen- dation for negronis. The Italian restaurant prepares its negronis at the bar, where guests can order the “753,” which is the house ne- groni made with Malfy gin, Campari, and chrysanthemum sweet vermouth. Sparrow Italia 255 NW 25th St., Miami; 786- 322-5998; sparrowitalia.com Another newcomer to the Magic City, Sparrow Italia has been making waves in Mi- ami for its Italian fare — and not-so-secretly fire negroni. Its take on the negroni is the “Hypnotize Me” that comes in a smoky box made with 400 Conejos, Meletti amaro, Cam- pari, a vermouth blend, arborio rice, and plenty of smoke. ViceVersa 398 NE Fifth St., Miami; vicev- ersamia.com Helmed by acclaimed Miami bartender Valentino Longo, ViceVersa just opened this summer and it’s one of the best spots in all of Miami to order a negroni because the bar makes its own in-house dolce amaro blend. The Italian bar in downtown Miami has a menu full of negroni options, including the “ViceVersa Negroni” made with ViceVersa Mi-To, (the house dolce amaro blend and Bombay Sapphire), as well as the “Negroni Sbagliato” made with ViceVersa Mi-To, Franciacorta (an Italian sparkling wine).
