BY DAVID ROLLAND I t’s getting to be that spooky season, where it’s socially acceptable to be masked, dripping with fake blood, and revealing all kinds of flesh in the spirit of Halloween. While the kids are out trick-or-treating and wholesome folk are sup- posedly bobbing for apples, here are some of the best Halloween parties for adults taking place throughout South Florida. Halloween Night of Covers at Las Rosas No original songs are allowed on this spooky night, which will also feature a costume con- test featuring “killer” prizes and a fortune teller who will tell you your future. Among the acts playing are Las Nubes channeling the Go-Gos, Black Sabbath by the Creature Cage, the Breeders/Pixies by Deaf Dorothy, Celtic Frost by Tyrants Circle, Buzzcocks by Gordo y Los Semilla, and Patti Smith by Moni Mu- sique. 10 p.m. Friday, October 31, at Las Rosas, 2898 NW Seventh Ave., Miami; lasrosasmi- ami.com. HaloWYN Block Party at Wynwood Marketplace Billing itself as Wynwood’s official Halloween block party, HalloWYN promises “costumes, beats, and a whole lot of eerie energy.” The night kicks off at 7 p.m. and goes to 3 a.m. in the morning. Lincoln Road Halloween Block Party at Lincoln Road From 5 to 7 p.m. costumed kids are encour- aged to trick or treat around the pedestrian mall. But as the sun goes down at 8 p.m., things become a lot more adult-oriented in what is advertised as “one of the largest, most spooktacular parties in the country.” There will be four stages of live music, thirteen outdoor bars, and eighteen cafes, but the real draw is seeing who is dressed up as what this year. 8 p.m. Friday, October 31, at Lincoln Road, Miami Beach. Admission is free via eventbrite.com. Stranger Treats & Beats Stranger Treats & Beats is conjuring up a Hal- loween experience at Mana Wynwood, from October 30 to November 1. Inspired by Stranger Things, this massive new festival transforms the venue into a cinematic play- ground of art, sound, and spectacle. Expect sets from house legends like Roger Sanchez and Mark Knight, genre-bending performances from A-Trak and 3BallMTY, and a global mix of rising electronic talent, all under one trippy, immersive roof. 11 p.m. Thursday, October 30, through Saturday, No- vember 1, at Mana Wynwood, 318 NW 23rd St., Miami; manawynwood.com.
