The seventh edition will take place between the Pérez Art Museum Miami and Koubek Center in Little Havana, kicking off with the opening night program, “The Short Films of Third Horizon Forward” at PAMM, followed by a “Locals Only” party. The night features the world premiere of Al’ikens Plancher’s Boat People, a short inspired by true events of a Haitian refugee fighting to survive the inhumane conditions at Guantá- namo Bay, and Rachelle Salnave’s Art: By Any Means Necessary, which follows the defiance of two art institutions in the Caribbean: one closed but squatted by artists, the other fight- ing to stay open. 7 to 11 p.m. Thursday, at Perez Art Museum Miami, 1103 Biscayne Blvd., Mi- ami; thirdhorizonfilmfestival.com. Tickets cost $14 to $18. Filmed entirely with an infrared camera, it stars Spanish actor Jordi Mollà and rapper Travis Scott and was filmed in Miami. Like Korine’s previous work — Gummo, Trash Humpers, Spring Breakers — the film has critics perplexed. “The experi- ence is akin to being locked in the disorienting POV of the Predator for 80 min- utes,” wrote Slant’s Mark Hanson in his re- view of the film. You can form your own opinion when O Cinema screens the movie starting on Friday. 9 p.m. Friday through May 16, at O Cinema South Beach, 1130 Washington Ave., Miami Beach; o-cinema.org. Tickets cost $10 to $12.50. JOSE D. DURAN ▼ DOWNTOWN PURE GOLD DJ-producer A-Trak promises to keep you dancing all night when he takes over the decks at Jolene Sound Room. Flagler St., Miami; 305- 603-9818; jolenesoundroom.com. Tickets cost $50 via dice.fm. SOPHIA MEDINA ▼ DOWNTOWN OPEN CLIQUE The crew behind Mala Junta has been provid- ing queer ravers in Berlin an escape for a few years now. With minimal promotion and mostly word of mouth, the party has become a staple in a city where raves are a dime a dozen. On Friday, Miami party collective Otherworld will present Genesis, a Mala Junta showcase with the party’s residents, DJ Tool and Hyperaktivist. Also on the bill are Pressure Point, Jon Aro, and Gio Elia. 11 p.m. Friday, at the Ground, 34 NE 11th St., #2, Mi- ami; thegroundmiami.com. Tickets cost $13 to $16 via dice.fm. JOSE D.
