DURAN FRI 4/19 ▼ CORAL GABLES LAVA FIELD When Roger Donaldson’s disaster film Dante’s Peak was released in theaters in 1997, it was not at all beloved by critics, though it did well at the box office during its run. That’s because the movie counted on Pierce Brosnan and Linda Hamilton as its leads, who were A-listers at the time, having starred in GoldenEye and The Terminator franchise, respectively. But most critics agreed that unless something was exploding, the characters and dialogue were, er, well, not great. Judge for yourself when Coral Gables Art Cinema screens the flick on Friday night. 9 p.m. Friday at Coral Gables Art Cinema, 260 Aragon Ave. Coral Gables; 786-472-2249; gablescinema.com. Tickets cost $10 to $11.75.
