The 35-year-old’s sound blends electronic with neo-soul and R&B. He released his sophomore album, Lahai, last year to critical acclaim. It was his first album since his 2017 debut, Process. It wasn’t like he had disappeared during that time in between the records. Instead, he worked on writing songs and collaborating with other artists like Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Solange, Travis Scott, and Alicia Keys. But on Tuesday, he’ll focus on his own catalogue, which is reason enough not to miss out on his performance. 7 p.m. Tuesday, at Miami Beach Bandshell, 7275 Collins Ave., Miami Beach; miamibeachband- shell.com. Tickets cost $65.58 via dice.fm. The book and lyrics were written by Tony Kushner, best known for his seminal work Angels in America. “[Jeanine] Tesori’s wondrous score is like the search function on a car radio, picking up snippets of every genre on the dial,” wrote Jesse Green in his New York Times review of the 2021 Broadway re- vival. 8 p.m. Wednesday through April 14, at Actors’ Playhouse, 280 Miracle Mile, Coral Gables; 305-444-9293; actorsplayhouse.org.
