NICOLE LOPEZ-ALVAR ▼ CORAL GABLES NYC SOFLO TAKEOVER CONTINUES The New York restaurant takeover in Miami continues — this time with La Pecora Bianca. Known for its bold flavors and fresh ingredi- ents, La Pecora Bianca has become a crowd favorite for those craving elevated Italian din- ing in a stylish, laid-back atmosphere. This past week, the popular spot has put up its sig- nage at the Shops at Merrick Park in Coral Gables, located at 360 San Lorenzo Ave., Ste. 1430. The sign reads, “coming soon,” which means Miami can expect a 2025 opening in the next few months. La Pecora Bianca, which translates to “The White Sheep” in Italian, has made its mark in New York by taking Italian food back to its roots as a local and seasonal cuisine. The restaurant’s menu centers around house- made pastas and modern takes on classic Ital- ian fare. All pastas, including signature dishes like rigatoni vodka, gramigna, and tagliatelle bolognese, are made fresh daily in-house. At the New York City locations, the menu typically begins with beef and pork meatballs in a pomodoro sauce with parmesan; whipped ricotta drizzled with truffle honey; and local burrata topped with honey-poached apples, hazelnut, and charred radicchio. Pastas, which are all made fresh in-house daily, range from the “gramigna,” curly pasta with house-made sausage, broccolini and chili flakes; vodka sauce rigatoni with stracci- atella; pomodoro or cacio e pepe spaghetti; beef and pork bolognese tagliatelle; and ravi- oli with pumpkin, brown butter, and sage. Pastas can be made gluten free, and burrata is available as an optional add-on. Mains include a NY strip steak in a red wine reduction, branzino with olives and lemon, pork chop with sweet and sour pep- pers, and the house “LPB burger,” stacked with fontina cheese, calabrian aioli, and pick- les, and served with parmesan potatoes. In addition to the food, the restaurant’s drinks are inspired by the Italian tradition of aperitivo hour. The drink menu features La Pecora Rosa organic rosé, an extensive selec- tion of spritzes and negronis, and signature cocktails built around Italian Amari.
