The wine-focused bistro shuttered its Coral Gables location at 266 Miracle Mile in late December 2025. Owner and sommelier Allegra Angelo con- firmed the closure, noting the decision allows the team to shift focus rather than exit the brand entirely. “After five years on Miracle Mile, we’ve decided to close our Coral Gables location to focus on new opportunities and our online business,” Angelo tells New Times. “This isn’t a goodbye; it’s simply a toast to what’s next.” The restaurant and wine bar’s Key Bis- cayne location remains open. Vinya Table opened on Miracle Mile in 2022 as an expansion of Vinya’s Key Biscayne concept. The Coral Gables outpost leaned fur- ther into a full-service restaurant model, pair- ing Mediterranean-leaning modern American food with a sommelier-driven wine program. The space combined dining, a full bar, and a retail wall, allowing guests to select bottles from the shelves to drink on-site or take home. The restaurant sat next to the longtime Italian staple, Fratellino Ristorante, in a stretch of Miracle Mile that has seen steady turnover in recent years. Vinya Table developed a following for its expansive wine list, curated by Angelo, which included over 1,000 selections across various regions and styles, alongside more than 40 wines available by the glass. The list emphasized terroir-driven producers and lesser-seen regions, making it a destination for wine-focused diners. The food menu leaned Mediterranean, built around small plates, pasta, seafood, and meat dishes designed to pair with wine. Dishes like jamón, patatas bravas, grilled baby artichokes, and lamb baklava became staples. While the Coral Gables location has closed, Vinya continues to operate Vinya Wine & Market on Key Biscayne. That loca- tion functions as a wine shop, bar, and restau- rant, and remains the brand’s primary brick-and-mortar presence. “This isn’t a goodbye,” Angelo said. “Our guests can still visit us at our shop and wine bar in Key Biscayne. The spirit of Vinya moves forward.” As of now, the former Vinya Table space on Miracle Mile appears vacant. No replace- ment tenant has been announced. Vinya Table. 266 Miracle Mile, Coral Gables. OLEE FOWLER ▼ WYNWOOD SECOND ACT Just when it seemed like Wynwood was say- ing goodbye to one of its most beloved late- night rituals, Pizza Tropical proved that some neighborhood legends refuse to fade away. During the bittersweet closing party of Gramps Wynwood on Sunday, January 4, 2026, the crowd learned the kind of news that turned tears into cheers: Pizza Tropical is of- ficially set to relocate in February 2026. The announcement was shared Sunday evening as regulars packed the bar and venue one final time, and it sent an electric wave of relief and excitement through the party. While the new location won’t be in Wyn- wood, it won’t be too far away, either. Accord- ing to owner Adam Gersten, the new Pizza Tropical will open at 7010 Biscayne Blvd. next to Dogma in the heart of Biscayne’s Upper East Side neighbor- hood. According to Gersten, the restau- rant will be a partnership between Pizza Tropical’s founders, Frank Pinello and Gersten, as well as one of the longest-serving employees of Pizza Tropical/Gramps. Expect a February opening with an expanded menu and all of the classics. What began as a farewell gathering quickly became a celebration of sec- ond chances. Friends clutched paper plates, lifted plastic cups, and hugged as they had just gotten back a piece of Miami they were not ready to lose. For years, Pizza Tropical was more than a slice window. It was a ritual for concert goers, comedians after a set, karaoke regulars, and anyone who knew that Wynwood nights often ended with a slice in one hand and hot honey wings in the other. The December announcement of Pizza Tropical’s closure hit especially hard, coming nearly a decade after nearly a decade of thin slices, garlic rolls, and late-night courtyard meals at Gramps. Fans mourned the loss online and in person, calling it the end of an era. But at Sunday’s party, the mood shifted from nostalgia to hope as word spread that a comeback was already in motion and that a new home would soon follow. Guests cheered, cried, and shouted the names of menu favorites like “El Peppe” and “La Blanca” as if they were rally anthems. Some longtime regulars said they had come to pay their respects, but instead left the courtyard, planning their reunion order for the opening week in February. The reopening will not bring back early Wynwood exactly as it once was, but it will restore one of its most meaningful culinary anchors. Pizza Tropical fed the neighbor- hood during years when Wynwood felt scrappy, creative, and deeply communal. Now it’s preparing for a new chapter, carrying nearly a decade of memories along with it.
