THURSDAY, NOV. 14, GRANADA THEATER, 3524 GREENVILLE AVE. $39.50+ AT PREKINDLE.COM British singer-songwriter and producer Sampha has been a favorite of just about any critical dar- ling of the last 15 years — he’s collaborated with everyone from Gorillaz and Frank Ocean to Jes- sie Ware and Solange. But in addition to helping elevate the sound of others, the 35-year-old has also carved out a respectable solo career, with a handful of EPs and a pair of albums, the latest of which, Lahai, dropped a little over a year ago (he released an expanded version of the record on Oct. 1). Now he’s touring behind his dreamy fu- sion of R&B, soul and electronic music. In inter- views, Sampha has described Lahai as him chasing a feeling of “weightlessness,” telling NPR about the album’s usage of synths: “For whatever reason, they just spoke to me. It felt like a bath. They just transported me to a quite serene place.” PRESTON JONES T Bone Burnett 8 P.M. THURSDAY, NOV. 14, KESSLER THEATER, 1230 W. DAVIS. $48+ AT PREKINDLE.COM Fort Worth-bred producer and musician T Bone Burnett has long cultivated a mysterious, end- lessly creative persona. He first began exploring the boundaries of music in North Texas, be- friending artists such as the late Stephen Bruton, and later crossing paths with all manner of su- perstars (Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison, Robert Plant, Gillian Welch and many, many more). His own solo career, while fertile in the 1980s, has been on a side burner for most of his life, but the 76-year-old Grammy winner returned his focus to his own music earlier this year with The Other Side, which recently netted him a Grammy nom- ination for Best Americana Album. His Oak Cliff appearance, with the backing trio of Dennis Crouch, Colin Linden and David Mansfield, will mark his first solo concert gig in North Texas in nearly 20 years. PJ Leon Bridges 7 P.M. FRIDAY, NOV. 15, DICKIES ARENA, 1911 MONTGOMERY ST., FORT WORTH. $66+ AT TICKETMASTER.COM It’s hard to believe nearly a decade has passed since Fort Worth-based singer-songwriter Leon Bridges first broke through with his ar- resting major label debut, Coming Home, but 2025 will mark that milestone. Given that, it seems entirely fitting that the 35-year-old mu- sician, who just released his fourth full-length record (titled Leon) to some of the best re- views of his career, is returning to the city that first nurtured his talent for his largest-ever North Texas gig. The 2024 finale of his tour will see Bridges joined by another rising Lone Star musician, troubadour Charley Crockett, as a special guest for Bridges’ debut hometown arena performance. The night will undoubtedly be emotional, and a benchmark for Bridges, as beloved today as he was when he played open mics on the city’s Near Southside. With Herma- nos Gutierrez. PJ Shaq’s Bass All-Stars Festival 4:30 P.M. SATURDAY, NOV. 16, PANTHER ISLAND PAVILION, 395 W. PURCEY ST., FORT WORTH. $89.99+ AT SEETICKETS.US Be honest: The words “dubstep” and “Hall of Fame basketball player Shaquille O’Neal” feel a little ... strange together. Odd as it might seem, however, the former NBA star-turned-analyst is serious about his love of electronic music, cred- iting it with helping ease his transition from pro- fessional athlete to the many, many pursuits he’s taken up since leaving the game over a decade ago. So profound is his passion, that in addition to performing under the musical moniker DJ Diesel, Shaq also curates a selection of artists for his now-annual Bass All-Stars Festival, re- turning to Fort Worth after debuting in 2023 to an estimated 15,000 attendees (and, unsurpris- ingly, a fistful of noise complaints from the sur- rounding neighborhood). Headliners this year include Dimension, Dion Timmer, Dirt Monkey and Eptic, among others. PJ Foushee 8 P.M. TUESDAY, NOV. 19, THE CAMBRIDGE ROOM AT HOUSE OF BLUES, 2200 N. LAMAR ST. $24.50+ AT LIVENATION.COM Alternative R&B singer-songwriter Foushee looked to her roots for her just-released second album, Pointy Heights. Pivoting from the raw sound of her 2022 full-length debut Softcore, Foushee, in collaboration with acclaimed musi- cian and producer Steve Lacy (with whom she co-wrote and performed on his hit single “Bad Habit”), found inspiration in the story of her grandfather, who purchased land in his native Jamaica intending to build homes there (Pointy was her grandfather’s nickname). “It’s interest- ing that my whole life I was just searching,” Foushee told Dazed Digital in September. “We’re all searching for ourselves outwardly, people, places and experiences, but you’d be surprised what things you can find inside.” Foushee has also been an in-demand creative partner, working with the likes of Donald Glover, Lil Yachty and Teezo Touchdown. PJ Dan Winters | LET’S DO THIS | t Music Fort Worth-raised producer and musician T Bone Burnett will perform in North Texas for the first time in almost 20 years. WINGWEEKDALLAS.COM BROUGHT TO YOU BY:
