(Seriously, was that Xmas sweater a gift?) We’re talking about Halloween, of course. Dallas is a big city with lots of par- ties, markets and festivities covering the whole gamut: sexy, scary and kid-friendly. Just take a look at this list so you don’t mix them up. We love that hot nurse outfit, but maybe not at the arboretum, m’kay? Spooky Screenings Galaxy Theatres Grandscape, 5740 Grand- scape Blvd., No. 100, The Colony Until Oct. 31 Visit Galaxy Theatres Grandscape for fam- ily-favorite movies until Oct 31. The Spooky Screenings Series will offer films such as E.T., Hotel Transylvania 2, Coraline and more. Tickets for the screenings are $2 for all ages. Value combos of popcorn and sodas are $3.50 with the purchase of a ticket. Howl-O-Ween Celebration Great Wolf Lodge, 100 Great Wolf Drive, Grapevine Until Oct. 31 The Great Wolf Lodge is transforming into a Halloween wonderland. The lodge will have autumn decor and tons of hallow-themed festivities like a Monster Bash Dance party, a trick-or-treat trail and arts and crafts. Guests can purchase a Halloween day pass for $40 per person. BRAT Halloween: A SWEAT Tour After Party Crowne Plaza Hotel, 1015 Elm St. 10 p.m – 2 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 9 Still weeping because you couldn’t score tickets to the BRAT tour? Don’t worry, we got you. Bring your most BRATastic costume and grab your ghouls for an epic night of BRAT classics and hyperpop bangers. Doors open at 10 p.m., and you can snag a free ticket if you show up before 11:30. Tickets are $10 presale and $20 at the door. Trinity Cider Bar Crawl 2656 Main St., No. 120 4–11 p.m., Saturday, Oct.19 Trinity Cider presents a happy hour Hallow- een bar crawl. A bar crawl ticket grants entry into the best bars, drink and food specials, a crawl map and a costume contest. Check-in for the crawl is at Trinity Cider from 4 to 8 p.m. General admission tickets are $20. Halloween Silent Disco Dallas Farmers Market, 920 S. Harwood St. 8–11 p.m., Friday, Oct. 25 The werewolves are sure to be howling at the moon this season, but you won’t hear them at the Dallas Farmers Market’s silent disco be- cause you’ll be too busy dancing to your own tunes on your wireless headphones. The si- lent soiree will have a variety of music chan- nels for you to choose from and a mocktail bar with spooky-themed drinks. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. The Rocky Horror Picture Show The Texas Theatre, 231 W. Jefferson Blvd. 7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 25 The Rocky Horror picture show is stopping in Dallas on its 49th anniversary celebratory tour. Join Patricia “Magenta” Quinn for a screening of the unedited original movie with a live shadow cast. Be prepared for au- dience participation, outlandish fun and a costume contest. If you’re feeling like splurging this spooky season, you can spend $100 on a V.I.P. meet and greet with Quinn. Tickets range from $29 to $59 plus fees. Noche de Terror Strangeways, 2429 N. Fitzhugh Ave. 8 p.m. – 2 a.m., Friday, Oct. 25 Chasquis Group presents a Night of Terror at Strangeways with an evening full of music inspired by vampire synth pop and Zapotec poetry. The show will feature a DJ set by Caugirl and performances from VALGUR, Alex O’aiza and Sordelo. Presale tickets are $22, and general admission is $30. Halloween Spooktacular Nights Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden, 8525 Garland Road 6–8 p.m., Oct. 25–26 Enjoy family-friendly fun in the Children’s Adventure Garden at the arboretum’s Hal- loween festival. This rain-or-shine event will have glow activities, candy stops, spooky booths and refreshments. Kids can also have fun watching the stilt walker or blowing bubbles at the black-light bubble dance party. Adult tickets are $22, kids’ are $18 for non-members, $18 and $14 for mem- bers. The party will feature DJ Virus, and you won’t want to miss it. After all, The Church was voted the Best Place to Catch a DJ Set by Observer readers. Limited $10 presale tickets are available now. Tickets will go up to $15 on Oct. 1 and $20 on Oct. 31. Treat Street: Fort Worth Stockyards Halloween Festival 131 E. Exchange Ave., Fort Worth 5–7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 31 The Fort Worth Stockyards promises spooky fun for the whole family this Halloween. It’s offering free candy for costumed kids ages 12 and younger, face painting and hay rides. The Legends of Texas Spooktacular show will start at 5:30, and again at 6:30. The event is free.
